About
Welcome to SCHMOUTZ, a charming culinary gem nestled in the lively streets of Paris at 130 Rue Saint-Maur, 75011. This family-owned restaurant has quickly garnered a loyal following thanks to its commitment to offering authentic flavors and a welcoming atmosphere. On my recent visit, I was captivated not just by the delightful menu, but by the overall ambiance and the sense of community that fills this spot.
One of the standout features at SCHMOUTZ is its dedication to traditional recipes, especially the renowned Tarte Flambé. A customer review by Vasiliu George emphasizes the remarkable taste, stating it rivals even the best offerings from Alsace. At only 9€, it's a steal for such quality. The restaurant also invites patrons to explore other delectable options like the Ail Ciboulette tarte, a must-try according to Lizzie Purtell, who vouches for its consistently delicious taste across multiple visits.
The service at SCHMOUTZ adds to the experience. Customers have praised the fast and friendly staff, ensuring that you feel well taken care of as you savor your meal. Moreover, the artisanal lemonade deserves a special mention, offering a refreshing accompaniment to the savory dishes, as noted by Rohit in his enthusiastic review.
For those who appreciate a good atmosphere, the establishment's vibe is infectious, with music that elevates the dining experience—just ask Antti Aro, who enjoyed the ambiance along with his drink. It's a space that's both casual and inviting, making it perfect for family dinners or a casual night out with friends.
In conclusion, SCHMOUTZ is not just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of culinary tradition and community spirit. Whether you’re indulging in a classic tart or diving into one of their innovative drinks, each visit promises a delightful experience that beckons you to return. Just remember, no reservations are taken, so if you're keen to snag a spot, arriving early is highly recommended, especially on bustling weekends.
“ We arrived when it opened. We couldn't find a way to reserve. So we found a table quickly since they had just opened. We took the traditionelle and the tomme. Very tasty food. Fast and good service. We also tried the artisinale limonade. Everything was great. Would recommend and would go again. (Edit) ”

“ Nice little place. Only got one beer but the music was good (if you like rap) and the draft was just what I needed. ”
“ Great, family-owned and operated restaurant with fantastic food! Try the Ail Ciboulette tarte, a pint with Amer and the spéculos tarte for dessert! I have been many times and it’s consistently delicious. They don’t take reservations, so if you want to make sure you have a table, arrive at 7 (especially on Fridays and Saturdays). ”
“ The Tarte Flambe is just as good as the ones in Alsace. Excelent and very cheap, at 9€ for the traditional one. ”
